COMPASS PARENT PROGRAMS

What do you need to best support your teen or young adult? Occupational therapists have a unique viewpoint that incorporates multiple factors. Feeling overwhelmed? Lost? Stuck? Wondering what you can do to be supportive? Watching your teen or young adult struggle and need a new perspective? Programs differ every time with content reflecting the needs of group members. COMPASS for COLLEGE

These 4-6 week virtual programs are specifically for parents and caregivers of college students. Each session includes an education module on a select topic and time for discussion, support, and special activities. Topics vary. May include:

  • Mindset

  • Self-advocacy

  • Transitions

  • Safety

  • Friendships

  • What is typical?

  • Navigating trips home

  • All things sensory

  • Packing for college, class, etc.

  • "Adulting" expectations

  • Failure

  • Homesickness

  • and much more!

    $250-$300 for series

COMPASS for CAREER

These 4-6 week virtual programs are specifically for parents/caregivers of young adults entering the workforce. Each session includes an education module on a select topic and time for discussion, support, and special activities. Topics vary. May include:

  • Self-advocacy

  • Coaching from afar and when to let go

  • Interviewing and accessibility

  • Talking about workplace etiquette

  • Bad days and Good days

  • Setting up work environments

  • Personality and work/friend/family dynamics

  • "Adulting" expectations

  • and much more!

COMPASS for ADOLESCENTS (High School)

These 4-6 week virtual programs are specifically for parents/caregivers of college/career-bound teens preparing for transition to adulthood. Each session includes an education module on a select topic and time for discussion, support, and special activities. Topics vary. May include:

  • Identifying needs BEFORE graduation/college/career

  • Finding resources that your teen will be open to

  • talking to your teen about transition to adulthood

  • Motivation

  • MAJOR decisions

  • Friends and other relationships

  • Organization/time management

  • What to pack for college

  • Starting the Adulting route

COMPASS for PARENTS (Individual)

Individualized parent coaching focused on whatever you need! Individual consults can be one time or multiple sessions, virtual or on site (depending on where you are located.) Parents and caregivers are the best experts on their children. Together we can discuss perspectives, strategies, and plans as you help your adolescent or young adult child transition to adulthood!
